Term Dates

At Little Acorns the children are presented with a range of activities. We provide the perfect balance between adult led activities and child initiated time. During this time children are encouraged to make their own choices and learn through play. The outdoor area is always available and children enjoy playing under the shelter in the rain.

The adult led activities are carefully planned to ensure that all areas of learning are covered (Communication & Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social & Emotional Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts & Design). Playing together cooperatively is encouraged throughout all activities and children are asked to help tidy up and sort toys into correct boxes.

Every day we have ‘circle time’ when children are encouraged to share their news, thoughts and feelings and contribute to discussion on current themes.

We are proud to have fantastic links with Rushbury School, and Little Acorns joins Class 1 for a story and song time every week. This familiarity with teachers, children and the school environment helps to ensure a smooth transition to school.
